  2. Currently, the High Frequency words are relative for the specific character in question, which is good as it gives us a useful example word.

However, for those of us who are brute force learning vocabularly, it's difficult to decide if this word should be added to our Anki flashcard sets, as we have no information on its absolute frequency.

It would be great if when you mouse over a word, that in addition to the definition, some measurement of absolute frequency were to be displayed. Perhaps top n%.

Incidentally, it would be fantastic if there was simply a giant list…

  3. I used your site for help breaking down characters and have just arrived in China for some full-time study... Only to find you are blocked without a VPN :(. This is totally bizarre! Any idea why?

  5. You don't need to make a flashcard program. You need to only make our "Favorites" in excel formal to download. Radical breakdown in one excel column and the definition in the other like this:
    Front: 的 => 白 (white), 勹 (wrap), 丶 (dot)
Back: de5 - of/~'s (possessive particle)/(used after an attribute)/(used to form a nominal expression)/(used at the end of a declarative sentence for emphasis)
Users have their own "favorite" flashcard program. We only need the .csv format to import to our preferred program.
    And thank you!

  8. Not sure if this is new behavior on Hanzicraft or was previously blocked by a Firefox plugin that stopped working recently but either way I personally find it very annoying.

It isn't hard for a user to get a new tab on a normal hyperlink if they want it either by holding down CTRL while clicking or alternatively right-click it and select Open-New-Tab. There is essentially no value added for a user in forcing a new tab to open.

  10. I'm currently unable to login to my account also I think maybe adding the most common used characters with pronunciation using pinyin and zhuyin with explanation would be good along with audio to hear each character as well as how to write

  11. I thought there used to be an option for that. Well if I search for a traditional Charfield it's fine but there are simplified characters in the lists.

  17. Hi it would be VERY useful to be able to have a list by Frequency. I want to study characters by how frequent they are.

  19. If I quickly check the tones from the similar tone list I e.g. notice 蓯 cong1 and 从 cong2 are not similar in tone. The other way around I found some of the characters in the 2nd list to have similar tones. e.g. 仔 zi3 and 子zi3 Am I overlooking something here?

  20. Where did the free registration go? I need to try out a simplified (yes, with ads even) site before I pay for something I haven't experienced. Of course if I find it useful I will very pay for the service. I just want to make certain that I find it intuitive to play around with and learn from first.

    Hey there Angela,

HanziCraft unfortunately hasn’t had free registration yet. However, I can definitely understand how useful it is to try a product before paying. I’m going to plan to implement a free trail so users could give it a go before paying.

Thanks for the nudge & great idea.

    Niel
