How can we improve HanziCraft?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

    Hey, the new banner ad advertising the mobile app blocks the text input on iPhone SE, making it impossible to use the site :(

  2. Use different CDN for JQuery

    Right now, you use the Google CDN for JQuery. I am right now in China and Google is blocked. In order to allow a functioning site outside of China without VPN, please switch the provider. There are quite a few alternatives.

    The short expiration on logins is so fucking annoying. There's not even anything sensitive on HanziCraft. They should never expire.

  8. A good start but incomplete

    I like that when you look up a single character you also get a list of other words containing that character and I especially like that they're grouped in terms of frequency. However, it seems pointless to include those lists if you click on the new two- or three-character word and don't get the definition, just the breakdown of the individual characters again. So I need to go to another dictionary (usually xiaoma.info) to find the meaning. So why not provide the dictionary definition for multi-character words right from the start?   9. Onmouse Over translation for example words

    I think on-mouse-over for word translation is better than giving the translation in brackets after it (could get long if too many words).
    There are open chinese-english dictionaries I think that you connect to via API, right?

  10. Find Characters containing a Certain Radical

    Hello Niel,

    thanks for your great Tool HanziCraft. I admire your work and just signed up for a Premium account.

    However I am looking for a function that is not yet covered by HanzCraft (I think) but by the data you have it probably easily could cover this function:

    For example: If I enter the Character 因 (yin) Hanzicraft would tell me it contains the two Radicals 囗 (enclosure) , 大 (big).

    Now I am looking for the other way around: looking for 囗 (enclosure) and getting a list of characters (not words) that contain it. In this list would…

  11. Traditional vs. Simplyfied

    just an idea ... not a feature request (at least not for me):
    If one researches a character it might have been copied from some online ressource without knowing if it is a traditional or simplified one.

    Maybe this information in the results would help some people.

    The same in the example words ... a beginner might not see if the words there are in simplified or traditional hanzi.

    Maybe you have an idea about that and if someone else likes this feature you could put it on your coding list.

  12. Remove duplicate pronunciation clues

    See http://hanzicraft.com/character/的 for an example. The "Pronunciation Clues" section has three items, all the same. I assume it's because 的 has three "dian" strokes, but only one should be listed.

    The boxes on http://hanzicraft.com/lists/phonetic-sets don't flow correctly. Each <li> should be display: inline-block so the two inner divs stay together.
